Whilst buying an off-the-peg coat is, of course, just fine, if you’re looking for a completely individual garment that’s made to fit only you, there really is no substitute for bespoke tailoring. Ready to wear coats are made with a one-size-fits-all approach, with no consideration for variations in body type, posture or even gait. This where tailoring comes in; offering an opportunity to create something which reflects your personality and style; becoming a key part of your wardrobe for many years to come.
We aim to make buying a men’s tailored coat as simple as possible so choosing to have a bespoke garment made by us involves four easy steps. We’ll start by arranging for one of our skilled tailors to visit you in the comfort of your home or office, with appointments available at a time to suit you. During this initial appointment you’ll have a chance to select your coat style, fabric, lining and trim. Next, your tailor will take numerous measurements, whilst also paying close consideration to your body type and posture.
You’ll be offered a choice of literally thousands of fabrics: we know this can be daunting and because some types of fabrics are better suited to coats than others, your tailor will be on hand to offer guidance. From pure wool and cashmere, through to silk lining fabrics and blends; if we don’t have the perfect fabric for you, we’ll source what you’re looking for.
Once you’ve chosen a style and fabric, your tailor will help you choose those all-important extras that will make your tailored men’s coat stand out from the rest. From the number of buttons through to vents and pockets, we’ll help you put a unique stamp on what will be a completely individual garment.
From this point onwards our team of pattern cutters, tailors and seamstresses will take over and this stage usually takes around six weeks to complete. Once your coat is ready we’ll be in touch to arrange a final fitting and if any alterations are required, we’ll arrange for these to be done as quickly as possible. We’re not happy unless you’re 100% happy!
