A three-piece is also warmer, ideal if you are planning tailoring for a winter wedding.

Navy, grey or black are the traditional shades teamed with a white or lighter shade for your shirt.

If you are the groom, the waistcoat could be a lighter, softer colour than the rest of your suit. It is preferable if the groom’s waistcoat can stand out amongst the groomsmen’s whilst complementing the bride. For the groomsmen, the waistcoat is usually the same shade as the suit.

Accessories play a large part in completing the three-piece and should be chosen carefully. Usually, the groom’s cravat or tie and pocket square will be the same colour or similar shade to his waistcoat and the same rule applies for the groomsmen.
