It’s all about people.
It’s about the people who measure our clients, cut patterns, sew, press, deliver, fit, alter, wear and enthuse about our beautiful clothes. The people who weave our fabrics, make up our pattern books, take photos for our web site, write about us in the newspaper, hand finish our ties at the factory in London or clean the shop windows.
And everyone else in between.
The passion we have for transforming the finest quality fabrics into individually crafted and beautifully tailored clothes is contagious. From the MD Austen, his right hand FD Nige, to the alteration tailor Allen, Robert the van driver, Dave on the phone, two Richards, Graham and the amazing team of visiting tailors across the nation, even Piers our web designer – everyone loves the Norton & Townsend way of doing things, our values and our ambitions.
And our customers tell us how much they appreciate the experience, the breath of fresh air, and they come back for more.
That’s what our business is all about.
I started my career at the same Bradford worsted mill that supplies a lot of our luxury cloth today. I’ve gone full circle. Integrity and honesty are incredibly important to me. We understand the process from sheep to shop and the focus is on service, quality and reliability – there is no spin or hype with anything N&T does.
I love N&T, working in a focused team of likeminded individuals with a passion to succeed and the variety my role brings. A made to measure suit feels ten times better than one off the peg. Once you try one, you never want to go back. I should know, I was a client long before I joined the company.
What is N&T about? Ultimately great suits and great service with style and integrity. Since starting with the company my role has grown to incorporate many different functions. Each day poses a different challenge but still nothing beats the feeling I get when I try a suit on a client for the first time and he looks a million dollars.
A well tailored suit with the correct figuration will feel like nothing on earth. It’s easier to wear, lasts longer and out smarts the high street. The detailing makes every suit truly unique. In this conformist world, make a stand!!
I love my job. It allows me to express and utilise the 25 years experience I have in bespoke and made to measure tailoring. People and clothing have always been a huge part of my life.
Norton and Townsend encourages the client to be in the driving seat with countless variations in fabric, style, lining, buttons. It gives our clients a sense of control they just can’t find in any retail outlet.
I have been with Norton & Townsend since the beginning and I would have retired a long time ago if I didn’t really enjoy working with the team.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression and as a visiting tailor I encourage my clients to project confidence by being well dressed.
I can be seeing a very stressed business executive in his office in the morning for business wear, a keen shot in the afternoon for a tweed shooting suit and a top jockey in the evening for shirts that actually fit. No two clients are the same. We see clients anywhere, anytime and take the stress out of dressing correctly, whatever the occasion.
“The service gets better and better”
from an email 2/3/09 from one of David Perrie’s very satisfied clients.
My preference is for a classic unassuming 3 piece suit, particularly appropriate in this economic climate where even the most ostentatious people are smartening up and toning down their wardrobes.
N&T is maintaining a great British tradition with the standards, professionalism and quality of Savile Row available in your own home or office.
" If you look good and dress well you don't need a purpose in life" (Robert Dante)
A made to measure suit is often better value than one off the peg when you consider the cost per wear.
But the biggest difference is that it will fit perfectly - and it was designed for you, by you.
